Q & A
What is Luminous: A Light Series?
It is a workshop to help you better your knowledge of photo studio lighting and all that goes into it!
I don’t know anything about studio lighting. Should I still sign up?
YES! You are the exact person this workshop is for; those natural light photographers who want to expand their knowledge of lighting, but don’t know where to start.
Should I bring anything?
A laptop and/or something to take notes. Be sure to bring your camera for the hands on portion at the end. Feel free to bring a snack and drink, but there will be mimosas and some brunch snacks provided!
What will I learn at Luminous?
We will cover all of the below:
SEAMLESS: How to correctly set one up, tear one down, and store.
ONE LIGHT SETUP: What is an AlienBee? How do you use it? How does it’s placement affect the light on your subject? What camera settings should I be on? What does this button do on the light? And all other things pertaining to using a studio light.
PHOTO KIT: All of the needs you should keep in your kit for a studio shoot.
MODEL DEMO: A test model will be at the workshop to help demonstrate the lighting in real time.
HANDS ON TIME: At the end of the class, each person will have time to try out the lighting on the model for themselves!
Full of or shedding light; bright or shining, especially in the dark

Studio lighting is daunting. It’s nerve wracking if you’ve never used it before and can feel overwhelming. My goal for this lighting workshop is to help other photographers feel confident and excited to add another element to their shooting. It’s not scary and you CAN do it! Our job as photographers is to capture light, so why not learn how to shape it, too? Sign up below! *Limited spots available.*
